We print dog bandanas
(and a whole bunch more)
We keep finding fun new ways to put our direct to garment printer to good use. They often come by way of customers looking for something unique and asking if we can do it.
Recently a new client contacted us about the possibility of printing bandanas for dogs. It was for a fund-raising event.
We immediately went to work and figured out how to place a bandana on the garment printer. While the shape of a bandana is triangular, by placing it on the printer as shown above, we can print them in the same was as we print t-shirts.
In the initial case we printed on bandanas that the client made and supplied. Since then we found a wholesale supplier of pre-made bandanas so that we can produce them in large quantities.
Something similar happened when a client asked us if we could produce printed cloth napkins. It was not something we had done but we enjoyed the challenge of making it come together. The napkins were for a school, so the colors were bright and fun, and we chose a cheery font.
We could do something similar for napkins for all occasions from birthday parties to family reunions, weddings, holidays, you name it. And, of course, there's more to print on than napkins.
Digitial garment printing works something like a home inkjet printer. Unlike screen printing where one color is printed at a time and you're limited in colors, digital garment printing can render color gradient blends.
Notice the color blends printed on a canvas bag above. Gradient blends can't happen with screen printing.
Another client inquired if we could print on headbands and wristbands. Again it was not something we had tried, but we were up to the challenge.
Once we figured out a way to mount the blank band onto the printer, we were good to go. If you use the right font in the graphic, it looks nice no matter how much the fabric stretches on the head when worn.
Another customer inquired about printing on gloves. The issue again was figuring out how to mount the gloves onto the printer.
Digital garment printing can render photographs on fabric. This could be used as a building block for making a photo quilt, creating a promotional tapestry, making a wall hanging, or whatever.
Printing on fabric can also make an interesting decorative effect. In one case we printed a photo on fabric that was then placed inside a glass block in front of a light source. This effect lit up the translucent photo and made a great centerpiece for a party table.
