Embroidered Magnets Attract Customers to Your Business
Many small business owners share the same woe: they spend tons of money on advertising in newspapers or magazines and then wait for the phone to ring. And wait and wait and wait.
Tired of waiting for their ad dollars to yield results, other small business owners are diversifying their ad plans. They're thinking a little outside the box.
Newspaper advertising works when someone with a need meets up with an ad that solves their problem. For example, real estate ads won't attract much attention if the reader is not looking to move. But when someone is eager to find a new house, then that same ad suddenly means something. Presto change-o! Potential buyer contacts real estate agent.
Ads in newspapers have a very short shelf life. They're usually as good as the current issue. When the next issue arrives, the ad is history, and your ad dollar is no longer working for you.
So what do you do? Many business owners find success creating something that won't end up in the recycling bin in a day or two. They create something that someone will want to use as a utility (like a calendar or a sports schedule) or to hang up as a decoration. When it's designed right, your business name will be visible for a much longer time.
Et voila, enter the embroidered magnet. You don't often see embroidered refrigerator magnets. They attract attention. They're unique. They're so cool that people will like putting them on their refrigerators or other metal surface as a decorative item.
And that's a good thing. It means that your advertising dollar is sticking in the potential customer's sight instead of languishing in the recycle bin. And when the time comes that your potential customer needs your product or service, your magnetized ambassador will be attracting their attention.
Of course, magnets should not be as complex or busy as a print ad would be. The idea is to jog someone's memory about your existence when the time is right. A beautiful embroidered magnet can do that.
If you have a cool-looking logo, that could be enough. It will be something that always beckons the eye.
You could also provide something, like a positive saying that people would love to see again and again. It may or may not include your logo.
If the magnet is impressive, people will simply remember where it came from. You could add to the impact by the method you use to get the magnet into your customer's hands. If they see it in your shop and request one, it means they like it. If it is part of a personal exchnage during a friendly meeting, it will mean more.
Promotion is all about making good mental impressions. Give someone a magnet during a "feel good" moment and the impression will take root.
